PV Industry Code Council

John Berdner is the president of PVICC. 

Mr. Berdner has more than 30 years of PV industry experience and has been active in Codes and Standards development for more than 20 years. Mr. Berdner is a founding and present member of the Standards Technical Panel for UL 1741 and chairs the 1741 working groups on ride through and real and reactive power control functions. He is co-chair of IEEE 1547 and a member of the industry advisory group for NEC 690 and 705. He also has had long term involvement in other Standards organizations such as, IEC, Solar ABC’s and a contributing member of California’s Smart Inverter Working Group. John is a recognized expert on utility interconnection requirements and advanced inverter grid functionality.
